"Mullin's is the FIRST ice cream
maker in Northern Ireland to be awarded the BRC Food Acreditation"
Company profile Just pure dairy
Mullin’s ice cream was founded in 1954 by Mr. & Mrs. Mullin
who worked hard behind the scenes of their shop in Kilrea making home
made ice cream that was sold in the shop and through their 3 ice cream
vans. As soon as their sons got their license they helped out in the
ice cream vans during their school holidays.
Over the ensuing years, the business has developed and expanded
beyond recognition. The original shop still remains in the same
position in the Diamond. Burgeoning demand for Mullin’s Ice
Cream soon led to the development of Mullin’s state of the
art factory in Kilrea. Colm and Walter took over the family business
25 years ago and have grown Mullin’s Ice Cream into the award
winning success that it is today.
Although Mullin’s have stopped retailing through ice cream
vans the company now has over 50 Scoop Parlours spread throughout
Northern Ireland and has outlets in supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s,
Supervalu, Mace, Cost Cutter and SPAR.
Whilst Walter and Colm never lose sight of the fact that their
success is built on Mullin’s role as makers of “home
made” style pure dairy ice cream, they have also expanded
and diversified the Mullin’s product range to include sorbets
and specialty ice cream cake desserts.
Ice cream is our business -
we live and breathe it!
